Irish Language Festivals

This article lists the main festivals that take place each year with or in the Irish language

Ireland plays host to many festivals throughout the year, many of which are a celebration of the Irish language, arts, music, and culture. You can find these Irish language festivals all over the country, in the cities and in the countryside, and you’ll find a range of different themes and celebrations at these festivals.

One of the largest Irish language festivals would be Oireachtas na Samhna, which is a celebration of the Irish language and its culture and is held in November every year, while other Irish language festivals focus more on music; there is even an Irish language tent and stage at Electric Picnic!

Other smaller Irish language festivals take place all through the summer; such as Féile na Gealaí or Liú Lúnasa,. Many of these are suitable for the whole family with various forms of entertainment provided, such as Irish language clowns, drumming, dancing and many other workshops and shows for all ages.

Don’t miss out on a fantastic chance to enjoy the wide range of Irish language festivals that could be happening near you.
