Community Groups

There are Irish language groups and organisations based in cities and towns from coast to coast.  These groups provide everything from information to classes, workshops, services and other events.

Below is a listing of the different types of groups and where to find out more information on them:

  • Irish-language community centres – the Centres page on PEIG provides information on the ones closest to you
  • Local Conradh na Gaeilge branches – for information on all of the branches around the country and abroad, visit the Conradh na Gaeilge website
  • Language planning officers – people who are based in the Gaelteacht and service town areas who are responsible for implementing the local language plans
  • Irish-language community schemes – other groups around the country that promote and support the language locally; see  the list below
