PEIG was established in 2004 to represent the interests of enterprises involved in Power Electronics in Ireland. The objectives of PEIG are:
- To promote the strategic development of the Power Electronics Industry in Ireland
- To promote the international reputation for excellence of the Power Electronics Industry in Ireland
- To strengthen relationships between all stakeholders in the industry including industrial members, universities and research institutes
- To assist in the promotion of Ireland as an attractive location for further investment in Power Electronics
- To provide professional inputs and advice to Government agencies and other relevant organisations on policy and funding matters affecting the Power Electronics Industry
- To conduct market and technical research of interest to its members
- To organise and co-ordinate training in key strategic areas such as marketing and R&D
- To promote co-operation and alliances between member companies and with related international bodies
- To promote the growth and development of small local Electronics and support industries
- To provide input to educational institutes on the needs of the Power Electronics Industry. To promote to Power Electronics Industry industry to prospective graduates
